WYNN IN PARIS — NOVEMBER 6-10, 2019
Wynn bought his first camera and started photographing in Paris while he was there pursuing his first career as a singer. Nearly 100 years later, Peter Fetterman brought an exhibit of Wynn's signature artwork back to France as part of the prestigious art fair Paris Photo. LATEST ADDITION TO OUR FEATURED IMAGE COMMENTARIES
Photographer/writer Paul Cotter has written such wonderful reflections on Wynn's images that we've invited him to continue as a periodic guest commentator. During a visit to Carmel several weeks ago, he recorded three new offerings and Cactus, 1958 is the one we've chosen to spotlight this month. To enjoy his commentary and view interesting bonus material I have added to the Feature, READ MORE.

APAG WEST'S 2019 SEMINAR — OCTOBER 12 & 13
The American Photography Archives Group and its west coast affiliate are dedicated to advancing the legacies of American photographers.
This year's annual day-long seminar consisted of three informative panels — Latest Trends in Museum and Archive Acquisitions, Current Digital Arching Practices, and Photo Markets Now.
Graciously hosted by Ann Jastrab and the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, Saturday's seminar concluded with a reception in CPA's gallery where participants were able to view the 8 x 10 Fundraising Exhibition and take their chances on winning one of the wonderful donated artworks on display.
Sunday was a bonus day open to all seminar participants – presenters, moderators, attendees, and APAG West planning committee members alike. In the morning, I offered a special viewing of the extremely rare and beautiful handcrafted book Relativity: Wynn Bullock and Albert Einstein published by 21st Editions, The Art of the Book. In the afternoon, Kim Weston and his family led a tour of their historic home on Wildcat Hill.
